November 2018: Turn-over of Educational Materials at Venus Daycare Center

I have always loved kids when I was younger. It always feels like every kid is my little brother or sister. The feeling is mutual, though. Little children likes me, too. Which makes me aspire to become a pediatric surgeon someday, since I also love human anatomy and painting. Some of these kids like to be doctors also and I’m backing them up for whatever they want to be when they grow up! I also believe that to raise a child, we could really manipulate his/her environment by teaching good values and providing for them tools from which they could use and learn. Unfortunately, the kids of Brgy. Venus are not as priviledged as city kids in terms of resources, especially educational tools.

A few days before we left, our team bought educational materials such as flash cards, clays, puzzle mats, a basketball set and stuffed toys for the kids of the Daycare Center. The materials were bought in Zamboanga City and were given to the kids days after our arrival.

This activity had nothing to do with our community health plans but seeing their excitement to get hold of the educational materials, those precious smiles and a simple “thank you” were all enough to keep us doing what we do. After all, what drives us most is love ❤️
