NOVEMBER 2018: ADDITIONAL MRFs

Improper Solid Waste Management has been the leading cause of Community Health Problem distinguished both by the medical students and the residents ot Brgy. Venus Sergio OsmeƱa. In the year 2016, a primary survey conducted which revealed that 78% of the residents were not practicing proper solid waste management. Specifically, some residents do not practice waste segregation, dumps their garbage anywhere and/or burn their garbages.

In 2017, our group proposed to the Barangay Council to construct Material Recovery Facilities for each puroks of the barangay. The objective here is to provide a common area where residents could throw away residual wastes and an easier way for garbage truck collection. That year, we were able to come up with four (4) MRFs on  the ff location - (1) Purok Jupiter, (2) Purok Mars, (3) Purok Uranus, (4) Venus Elementary School.

This exposure, we constructed another two (2) MRF’s to be placed along the highway of Brgy Venus. Thanks to our very supportive barangay council for their unceasing effort, time and support.
