  1. Demographic Profile
The municipality of Sergio Osmeña has a total population of 30,219 according to Community-Based Monitoring System 2008. The population of Barangay Venus as of 2008 is 1,503 comprising of 315 households. Among the individuals, 772 are males and 731 are females. The number of indigent families is 124. The population of Barangay Venus comprises about 5% of the total population of Sergio Osmeña municipality.
For the special groups, the total population of pregnant women in Barangay Venus is 27 which is only 4% of the entire population of pregnant women in Sergio Osmeña. The total numbers of children below 1 year old is 25. Moreover, the number of senior citizens in Barangay Venus was 116 in 2013, 118 in 2014 and 171 in 2015.

B.  Health Profile

Health Facilities 
            There are two (2) Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC) accredited facilities in the municipality of Sergio Osmeña – the Rural Health Unit which is located in Poblacion Bajo and Sergio Osmeña District Hospital. Venus Health Center is not PHIC accredited. 
Health Personnel 
            In Barangay Venus, there is one (1) Barangay Health Worker, one (1) Barangay Nutrition Scholar and one (1) midwife with three (3) catchment areas in Venus, Liwanag and San Juan. 
            The barangay midwife and barangay health worker attended the Barangay Governance Leadership Program held at the Rural Health Unit (RHU) which is in partnership with Ateneo de Zamboanga University this year. Other health-related trainings were attended by the RHU midwife of Sergio Osmeña.

            Table 3 shows that Upper Respiratory Tract Infections with 2,895 cases ranked the highest among the leading causes of morbidity in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2013.

Table 4 shows that Upper Respiratory Tract Infections with 719 cases is the leading cause of morbidity for children under 5 years old in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2013. The table also reveals that Urinary Tract Infection ranks 10 in the leading causes of morbidity for the said group in the municipality.

            Table 5 shows that Cardiac Arrest due to Myocardial Infarction with seven (7) cases is the leading cause of mortality in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2013. Furthermore, Respiratory Failure secondary to Status Asthmaticus has the least number of cases reported.

            Table 6 reveals that Upper Respiratory Tract Infections remains to be the leading cause of morbidity wth 1,341 cases in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2014. Moreover, musculoskeletal problems ranks 10 among the leading causes of morbidity reported.

            Table 7 reveals that Myocardial Infarction remains to be the leading cause of mortality with 15 cases in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2014. Also, multiple hacked/stabbed wound and ovarian cancer has the least number of mortality cases in the municipality for the same year.

            Table 8 shows that the total number of deaths in Sergio Osmeña for the year 2014 is 87, in which 47 were males and 40 were females. The maternal mortality is one (1) and infant mortality is two (2) in the municipality for the same year. For Barangay Venus, there were 0 cases for the maternal and child mortalities for the year 2014.

            Table 9 illustrates the detection rate and cure rate of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Barangay Venus and in the municipality of Sergio Osmeña. It shows that for the years 2012, 2013, and 2014, there were no cure rate data for Barangay Venus. However, for Sergio Osmeña, the cure rates for 2013 and 2014 are 100% and 97% respectively.

            Table 10 summarizes Child Health indicators for Barangay Venus and entire Sergio Osmeña municipality for the year 2014. The table illustrates that there are 25 infants (0-11 months) referred for Newborn Screening in Barangay Venus, which comprises 11.2% of the entire population of infants being referred for Newborn Screening in the municipality of Sergio Osmeña. There are 18 fully immunized children (FIC) in Barangay Venus and this comprises 2.6 % of the FIC population in the municipality. Furthermore, there are 175 completely immunized children reported in Sergio Osmeña but none in Barangay Venus. Infants who were exclusively breastfed until 6 months in Barangay Venus has a total number of 22 out of 534 for the entire municipality (4.1%). Other indicators include the given vaccines in the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) schedule such as BCG, Pentavalent, OPV, Hepa B, Measles and MMR.

            Table 11 shows the nutrition status (weight and length for age) of preschoolers in Barangay Venus. It reveals that 87% has normal weight for age in 2013, 78% in 2014 and 85% in 2015. Furthermore, it shows that in 2013, 65% has normal length for age, 59% in 2014 and 77% in 2015. The malnutrition rate in 2013 is 12%, 22% in 2014 and 15% in 2015.

            Table 12 reveals the weight for age of elementary pupils in Venus. In 2013, 93% has normal weight for age, 92% in 2014 and 80% in 2015. Furthermore, 18% of the pupils are overweight in 2015. The malnutrition rate in 2013 is 7%, 8% in 2014 and 20% in 2015.

            Table 13 shows the Maternal Care Summary Table for Barangay Venus and the municipality of Sergio Osmeña. It shows that pregnant women with 4 or more prenatal visits in Venus comprises 4.5% of the entire population of pregnant women who had 4 or more prenatal visits in the municipality. Moreover, there are 26 (in Venus) out of 696 (3.7%) postpartum women who initiated breastfeeding within 1 hour after delivery in 2014.

            Table 15 illustrates the natality data for 2014 in the municipality of Sergio Osmeña. It shows that among the 696 number of livebirths, 50 deliveries were attended by doctors, 30 by nurses, 522 by midwives, 80 by trained hilots and 14 deliveries were attended by untrained hilots.
