In order to address modifiable factors of
Hypertension among the residents in Barangay Venus and to ensure pharmacologic
management among identified hypertensive patients of Barangay Venus, A Fun Run
Activity: DAGAN PARA SA DUGHAN was organised to be able to raise funds procure
Blood Pressure Booths where Blood Pressure apparatuses would be readily
available and accessible to hypertensive individuals and prevent unnecessary
complications and at the same time engage the residents in a form of exercise.
After the 3km run/walk, the top 3 finishers, being 1st: Dwight Pasa, 2nd:
Sonnyboy Perocho and 3rd: Eulogio Baldado were awarded with a handmade medal
and a certificate of appreciation. Also they were honoured by the generous and
ever active Barangay Captain Renie Boy Escribano with cash prizes. A typical
breakfast- pandesal with milo was served to all participants which was
sponsored by the Public Health Nurse, Ma’am Sherwayne Joy Entrina and Sir
Antonio Lagod, one of the NDPs from the Rural Health Unit. With all the
participants now gathered in the Covered Court, a grand Zumba took place where
even members of the PNP of Sergio Osmeña danced to the beat of “Girl in the
Mirror”. With the event, a total of 260 ticket bands were sold for only 15php
each and along with the solicitation from key personnel in the municipality, a
profit of 6,695php was raised. Watch out for more fun filled fundraising
