April-May 2019: Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council



Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) is considered as the first line of defense against the proliferation of prohibited drugs in the community. It is so since it’s members primarily consists of barangay officials and barangay sectoral representatives having first hand information about the members of the community. With the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, they play a vital role in drug clearing operations. They work together with the Philippine National Police.



Barangay Venus held a BADAC Barangay Assembly last April 1st, 2019 with the theme “Barangay natin, sama-samang paunlarin”, with approximately 100 individuals in attendance. The said assembly was held to educate the community residents, especially teenagers, of the harmful effects of drugs, and its punishment by the law.

The assembly was attended by a representative from the DILG and PNP. A lecture on drugs was conducted by the PHN of Sergio OsmeƱa RHU, Miss Sherwayne Joy Entrina.
