For
the past years, we have been conducting lectures about the importance of having
safe drinking water. And this year, another water disinfection promotional activities
were conducted. Campaign posters was
posted on high visibility areas such as health center, daycare center,
elementary school and tribal area of each purok. Fliers was also given to each
households. The flier contains a short but concise procedure of the different water
disinfection techniques. A 2-hour lecture was also given by the Sanitary Inspector
during barangay assembly. The content includes water disinfection methods,
proper water storage, and the importance of maintaining a clean and safe water
drinking source. This was consisted of a lecture-demonstration on the correct
process of the three water disinfection methods; boiling, chlorination and
SODIS. After the lecture, there was an actual demonstration. The residents were
given the chance to perform the three water disinfection methods. Questions and
clarifications from the respondents were also entertained.
