The production of Venus Nutri-Squash Pancit Canton is one of Team Venus’ strategies in combating malnutrition in the barangay by generating additional income for the mothers/women in Venus. With the help of the Women’s Organization, a product produced from an abundant source in the community was achieved and made even more nutritious: Squash Pancit Canton.

Squash is one of the most versatile and delicious vegetables in the world. It contains vitamins and minerals that benefit our body. Squash is a good source of Vitamin A which can help improves your eyesight and lung health. It improves the lung especially for those who are exposed to cigarette smoke. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory property of squash has been linked in reducing asthmatic condition.

It is also a good source of B-complex vitamins and good amounts of dietary fiber which are good to regulate metabolism. 

Squash is also a valuable source of zinc and calcium, this can help reduce your chances of developing osteoporosis as you age. It is also a good source of iron and copper which are essential components of red blood cells. This reduces your chances of developing anemia and increase circulation within your bloodstream.

It is also rich in magnesium and potassium which are very effective against cardiovascular diseases. It also contains Vitamin C and other antioxidants compounds that are important components in our body.
