Last October 23-25, the group was invited to attend the opening of the 2015 district BSP and GSP encampment, a jamboree event for the boy and girl scouts of Sergio Osmeña. this year's themefor the boy scouts is "Peace and development through scouting" and for the girl scouts is "Girls worldwide say: I imagine. I achieve. I serve." Different barangays from Sergio Osmeña participated at the event. The activity started in the morning if October 23. Many people, not just the children attended the event. Barangay captains of each barangay with their elementary school teachers supported their participants. during the event, the scouts were in uniform and are very active in building up their tents, and cooking rice with bamboo. the event lasted for three days and their were no regular classes for the elementary schools. Also, vendors also took their chances to put up their businesses during the event.
The group was invited by the Venus Elementary School's principal to support the barangay's participants. the barangay has its own tent with a group of teachers to support their delegates. their tents are designed creatively with letterings and logos all over. the teachers were very hospitable and even invited the group to eat some rootcrops that they prepared. the group bonded with the students and even interviewed some of the vendors.
The event became a good experience to the group as they learned how children from Sergio as very participative into activities like this.Also, people get to know us since we are new faces at the municipality and it became a good way to introduce ourselves to individuals who may be our furure friends at the community.
