March - April 2016: COMMUNITY ASSEMBLY

It is the most awaited program for our second exposure. This will kind of tell how we have established raport with the community people as we conducted our house-to-house survey. A lot of questions were running into our minds. Will there be a lot of people? Will they be acvtively participating? How would we be able to answer their questions? And most importantly, HOW WILL WE BE ABLE TO SPEAK STRAIGHT BISAYA?

Day before the 18th, the group was so busy preparing for the assembly. The boys traveled to Dipolog to purchase some snacks for the attendees, while the girls continued with the three-day BP monitoring. Evening came, our hands were filled with papers. From printing letterings, ranking the problems and discussing the flow of the program. We were all trying to keep ourselves awake just to get done with the preparation. We slept at 1am and our call time for the following day is 6:30am.

Sun rise came and everybody was gathered around the dining table for breakfast. We emptied our plates fast just to meet the time we set to prepare the venue. Upon reaching the covered court, we immediately organized the chairs, set the stage, and placed the table for BP taking and RBS testing.

The following were our activities during our Community Assembly:

Registration, BP taking and Glucose Monitoring.
