May 22, 2017: TB Active Case Finding


Active Case Finding through home visits was conducted from May 17-19, 2017 to identify patients in the community with presumptive symptoms of TB. 

On 22nd of May 2017, the sputums were sent to the Rural Health Unit for Microscopic Examination.

For May 2017, there were 11 residents identified and they were subjected to Direct Smear Sputum Microscopy to detect presence of Tuberculosis. 

The active case finding is a bi-annual activity implemented to strengthen the TB-DOTS program of the DOH.
